Design and feel -

Nokia N8 has greatly improved the design pattern through a complete metal chassis and an anodized scratch resistant paint providing a high end feel. The 3.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen provides perfect sharpness and the design perfectly fits in your palms. The design factors of the handset include:

Camera :

The 12 mega pixel camera is backed up with the power of Carl Zeiss optics, ND filter and Xenon flash to provide brighter images with 4000 x 3000 pixels resolution and 720p video recording options even in low light. Besides, the secondary VGA front camera aids in video calling functionalities.

Memory -

The memory power of Nokia N8 has been greatly boosted up with 16 GB storage on board along with the option to expand the storage power up to 32 GB via micro SD card slot, providing a perfect option to save all your favorite media.

Performance and battery -

The handset comes with a 680 MHz processor which simply depicts that Nokia has not concentrated on faster processing with the handset as compared to other hi-tech gadgets. Besides, the battery is also standard 1200 mAh Li-Ion one but has come up with optimized performance enabling you to stay connected even without charging for a day.

Software review -

Operating system -

Though Nokia N8 has come up with an upgraded version of Symbian^3 OS which removes the negative aspects of the previous versions, the frustrating effect of the slower platform is still present. The widgets have been displayed nicely in both portrait and landscape modes but the home screens require much more improvement.

Connectivity and network support -

Apart from class 33 GPRS and EDGE, the handset has come up with Wi-Fi and 3G technology for advanced internet access along with 10.2 Mbps HSDPA. It works with 2G networks covering frequency bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and also support 3G network with HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 frequency band coverage.
