HTC is out to grab some part of the lucrative Tablet market with HTC Flyer - a new entry in the Tablet market. HTC Flyer is quite portable because of its small size in comparison to other Tablets and is quite attractive with its UI and useful Stylus software that allows you to take note anywhere you want.

Design:

The device has a 7 inch screen which is quite compact when compared to other Tablet devices. The device has a dimension of 195.4 x 122 x 13.2 mm and weighs 420 gm. It possesses LCD capacitive touchscreen which can support 16M colors.

Camera:

The set flaunts two cameras, one at the back which is the primary one having resolution of 5 MP, there is also a secondary camera for making video calls and is of 1.3 MP resolution. The cameras are laced with properties like Auto Focus and Geo tagging.

Memory:

This tablet has 32 GB on board memory and a further 32 GB of memory can be added with the help of microSD card slot. It also has 1 GB of RAM to lubricate the powerful hardware of the device. The on board memory offers practically unlimited fields and entries.

Processor and Battery:

Quite naturally to mechanize all these hardware features set has 1.5 GHz processor which can out run some of the PCs processor. Since, there is a provision of watching the videos on the big screen, it's only but natural that device needs to be powered by a powerful battery, otherwise all these advance features may back fire. Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery present on the device ensures complete battery coverage for your device.

Software Review:

Operating System:

Though the set does not possess Tablet specific operating system, the on board Android OS, v2.4 also known as Gingerbread, can give you quite a nice experience. It supports some of the Apps which could be run fine without any distortion despite of the large screen of the tablet

Connectivity and Network:

The set is 3G enabled with additional connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB. It also possesses GPRS and EDGE standards. If you are in a Wi-Fi hotspot you can access fast speed internet with its Wi-Fi standards. The set features 3G which has HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps standards.

Media Player and Browser:

The device features HTML browser to let you access rich web content and high quality web pages. It also possesses Adobe Flash 10.1 player to run flash applications on the device. The device runs all major form of multimedia files namely:
  • MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA player
  •  DivX/Xvid/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player

HTC Flyers UI which sits over the vanilla operating system will surely win your heart if you go through the UI of the device. Though some of the Apps may not look best on the large screen of Tablet as they were designed for smart phones, there are others which offer nice experience. This is certainly a smart and sleek tablet that you should definitely have in your possession.
